The purest test of car and driver

Time attack is motorsport stripped back: one car, a clear track, a timing beam. No wheel-to-wheel contact, no grid position to defend, just the fastest lap you can put together. It is the natural step up for anyone who has done track days and wants a result that means something.

At SHIFT Nation it runs on the same circuit the racing uses, in a festival weekend with a crowd watching. That is the point: the cars and the drivers who have been doing this in paddocks for years get a bigger stage.

Run with the people who already run it

SHIFT Nation does not reinvent time attack. It works alongside the organisers and drivers already running it, so the classes, the rules and the culture people know carry across. The festival provides the circuit time, the lights and the audience.

Four circuits worth attacking

The Bend’s long, flowing layout, Calder Park’s short and technical lap, Queensland Raceway’s fast straights and Sydney Motorsport Park’s Grand Prix circuit each reward a different kind of car. Running all four in one year is a season in itself.

Where time attack runs in 2027

Every round is a full SHIFT Nation Festival: circuit racing, drifting, time attack and roll racing on track, car clubs, sim racing, live music and kids entertainment off it, running into the night under lights.

Entry requirements, classes and costs come with each festival program, set with the organisers running time attack at that round. Register your interest and tick Entering my car to get them first.

02Do I need a race licence?

Licence and safety requirements will be confirmed with each festival program and depend on the class you enter. Check the program before you buy anything.

03Does time attack run under lights?

Each festival runs into the night under lights. Which sessions run after dark will be set out in the program for that round.
