Street car motorsport, on a circuit, legally

Roll racing is the most accessible motorsport there is. Two cars line up on the straight, roll to the start together and race to the finish line from a rolling start. No launch, no clutch dump, no drag strip prep, just the car you drove in on and the one next to you.

That accessibility is why it belongs in a SHIFT Nation Festival. It brings the street car crowd and the circuit crowd into the same place, and it gives the operators and clubs who already run it a bigger stage with a proper audience.

Roll racing in Sydney, Melbourne, Queensland and SA

Roll racing runs on the main straight at all four festivals: Sydney Motorsport Park at Eastern Creek in October, Calder Park in Melbourne’s north-west in April, Queensland Raceway at Willowbank in September and The Bend Motorsport Park in South Australia in February.

Under lights

Every festival runs into the night, and roll racing under lights is built for it. Saturday night at The Bend, Calder Park and Queensland Raceway, Friday night at Sydney Motorsport Park.

Where roll racing runs in 2027

Every round is a full SHIFT Nation Festival: circuit racing, drifting, time attack and roll racing on track, car clubs, sim racing, live music and kids entertainment off it, running into the night under lights.

Roll racing is built for street cars. Entry requirements, classes and safety gear come with each festival program and are set with the operators running roll racing at that round. Register and tick Entering my car to hear first.

At the SHIFT Nation Festival at Sydney Motorsport Park, Eastern Creek, 8–9 October 2027, with Friday night under lights.
